Dnes v nočních hodinách proběhl 94. ročník udělování Oscarů, nejprestižnějších filmových ocenění roku. Členové Akademie vybrali vítěze kategorií, ale někteří z nich poděkovali jen lidem v hledišti.
Televize ABC zkrátila celkovou dobu vysílání Oscarů, přičemž doufala, že to zaručí, že sledovanost Oscarů nebude zase klesat. Mimo vysílání tak Akademie udělila ceny v kategoriích krátký dokument, střih, make-up a vlasy, soundtrack, výprava, krátký animovaný film, krátký hraný film a zvuk.
Nejvíce Oscarů získal sci-fi film Duna, a to šest. Šlo však jen o technické kategorie. Režisér Dennis Villeneuve nebyl ani nominován. Následuje CODA se 3 výhrami včetně nejlepšího filmu. Nejlepší režisérkou se stala Jane Campion za své drama Power of the Dog (Síla psa).
Nejlepšími herci se stali Will Smith, Jessica Chastain, Ariana DeBose a Troy Kotsur. Poslední jmenovaný se stal teprve druhým neslyšícím hercem v dějinách Oscarů, který vyhrál zlatou sošku. Will Smith bude plnit titulky článků nejen díky své oscarové výhře, ale také pro to, že vrazil facku moderátorovi Chrisu Rockovi, protože si utahoval ze Smithovy manželky Jady Pinkett-Smith.
Historii přepisovalo i japonské drama Drive My Car, které se stalo teprve druhým japonským filmem, kterému se podařilo vyhrát v kategorii Nejlepší cizojazyčný film. Níže se můžeš podívat na kompletní výsledky. Vítěz je vyznačen tučným písmem.
